The Lophams’ Society
“Meet and Greet”
On May 20th The Lophams’ Society committee hosted a very enjoyable “Meet and Greet” evening at The White Horse in South Lopham.
All new residents of North and South Lopham were invited to a social get-
The atmosphere was relaxed and informal allowing plenty of time to chat and during the evening we were joined by representatives from other local groups including The Lophams’ Ladies and The Village Hall committee. It was also an opportunity to introduce new residents to The Lophams’ Society and hopefully encourage them to come along to future events where they can now meet up with some familiar faces.
Many thanks to all at The White Horse who helped to make the evening a success and for providing a tasty buffet which was enjoyed by all.
SUMMER BARBEQUE
A fine summer evening on the 6th July provided the perfect backdrop to this year’s
summer BBQ which had all the elements for an enjoyable village get-
The bar team were kept busy keeping thirsty villagers’ vocal chords lubricated enabling them to join in with a mixture of music supplied throughout the evening by two local bands, Captain Kirk’s Mandolins and Burning Indifference.
For those with a little more energy Jim Pursehouse organised an impromptu rounders match (extra practice for the village games maybe). Despite the fact that several of the committee were unable to attend due to holiday commitments, sterling work on behalf of the other members and helpers both old and new, ensured that the evening went ahead as usual.
At the end it was agreed that it had been a thoroughly enjoyable evening and thanks were due to all of those who gave their time and energy to make the evening happen and to all those villagers who turned up to support it.
BONFIRE AND FIREWORKS
On November 2nd the annual Bonfire and Fireworks brightened up the night sky. Although last minute changes were needed to cope with the high winds, the evening was very well attended and the we had another memorable firework display. There was hot food, including burgers and hotdogs. Thanks to everyone who helped to make this a another great family occasion
